Agency
Background
Comprehensive
Counseling Solutions Inc., (CCS) has been a support
agency to various governmental agencies, such as the
Department of Family and Children Services (DFACS) for
over four years. This past year, CCS entered into an
agreement with the Georgia Department of Juvenile
Justice to provide wrap around juvenile services. CCS is
authorized to serve all of the 159 counties in Georgia.
The agency employs various licensed professionals such
as psychologists, psychiatrists, licensed social
workers, as well as licensed-eligible Master’s level
counselors and social workers. CCS also utilizes
Behavioral Intervention Specialists (Bachelor level
paraprofessionals), transportation specialists, and
other administrative support staff to provide the
quality, competent care people deserve.
Headquartered in S.W.
Atlanta, Georgia, CCS provides Comprehensive Child and
Family Assessment services, (Emergency) Home Evaluations
for DFCS, Homestead Counseling, Parent Aide, Early
Intervention services, Certified Anger Management
Classes, Certified Parenting Classes, Certified Domestic
Violence Classes, Certified Substance Abuse Assessments,
and Certified Substance Abuse Counseling. In addition,
CCS provides a multitude of in-home services for
community-based Juvenile Justice clients and families.
Some of these services include in-home counseling,
crisis intervention, in-home monitoring, intervention
for families, and wraparound services. These services
are designed to provide a continuum of alternatives to
detention for pre-adjudicated youth and serve as a
resource for the Department of Juvenile Justice.
CCS provides intensive,
crises-oriented, short-term services to families where
children are at risk of imminent placement. Our concept
of operation is to provide a cluster of family support
assessments and intervention services provided to
prevent unnecessary placement of children out of the
family unit, or to provide for their immediate
reunification for care. The fact is, removal from the
home is often very necessary. If a child is being
physically, emotionally, or nutritionally neglected, or
if the child is being physically, emotionally, or
psychologically abused, or if a child is causing harm to
others, an out-of-home placement may be required to
assure family safety.

CCS
intervention services focus on family counseling,
individual counseling, in-home intervention, basic
living and life skills, substance abuse prevention,
anger and stress management, as well as other various
behavior intervention services. Our professionally
trained and insured staff is particularly adept in
providing these services to families, and has a unique
ability to deal with neglect issues such as supervisory,
emotional, medical, prenatal/neonatal, and educational
neglect. CCS’s behavior intervention and reunification
concept incorporates a holistic and family-centered
approach involving as many family members as possible,
but also utilizing extended family resources and
community based services.
Furthermore, CCS has
professionally educated and trained staff to effectively
address the various concerns and behaviors within a
family, while demonstrating sensitivity and respect
towards the respective cultural roots that serve as a
foundation for effective parenting. This focus empowers
the family leadership to be independent and
self-sufficient. More importantly, it serves as the
cornerstone for rectifying inappropriate parenting
practices.
Finally, CCS recognizes
that there is a plethora of dysfunctional beliefs and
behaviors, as well as a myriad of moral dilemmas that
continue to threaten and attack traditional family
values and practices. Specifically, issues related to
alcohol, illicit drugs, gang violence, and anti-social
skills continue to put families at risk. CCS personnel
are professionally trained and insured to provide a full
range of counseling services that protect governmental
organizations from unnecessary liability.
